Company News: Artha Resources
Updated: 10 Sep 2010
The company's principle exploration property surrounds Silver Standards Pirquita's Mine, one of the largest primary silver mines in the world with proven and probable reserves of 195.1 million ounces. The surface geology surrounding Pirquitas shows all the signs of a large epithermal system with broad areas of alteration and structural features consistent with this deposit model. Pirquitas is located in the province of Jujuy in NW Argentina, an area with a proven history of mining.
Positive exploration results to date have encouraged Artha to become one of the dominant mineral explorers in this region with over 1,500 square kilometers of properties highly prospective for silver, gold, base metals and rare earths. These properties continue to deliver highly encouraging results in an underexplored mineral province which hosts world class ore bodies.
Artha's exploration program is well underway and plans for 2010 include: mapping, sampling, trenching and geophysics to further define targets for the upcoming drilling program which is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2010.
Artha is well positioned to take advantage of rapid growth in this region's mineral development and remains committed to developing and expanding its assets in the region.
