Gemcom Software International, one of the largest global suppliers of mining software solutions, recently announced Agnico Eagle’s Kittila mine in northern Finland has chosen Gemcom InSite as its mine production management solution. Agnico-Eagle Mines is a Canadian-based gold producer with operations in Canada, Finland and Mexico.
InSite has been deployed at the Kittila open pit and underground gold mining operation in northern Finland to improve the site’s utilisation of its operational data in reports and decision making. With the solution, the mine will have the infrastructure required to take greater control over mine production.
“We chose InSite to improve how we use our operational data with the goal of increasing its integrity and making it more accessible. The solution’s strength in stockpile management was another important consideration for us,” said Andre van Wageningen, senior project engineer, Agnico Eagle, Kittila mine. “With new reporting capabilities, and enhanced visibility and transparency of production, service, and support activities, we will increase our confidence in the production values from across our operation, and have support for continuously improving our processes.”
“Kittila joins a growing number of mines who realise the difference production data can make when it can be leveraged more completely,” said Allen Vaughn, executive vice president of Gemcom’s enterprise business unit. “Our partnership approach to working with our customers to understand their goals, coupled with InSite’s ability to rapidly integrate the data produced throughout operations, will quickly provide Kittila with powerful new decision-making tools.”
InSite gives mining operations the tools and real-time data needed to improve production management from the mine to final product. With InSite, mining operations are able to link production data, costs, and planned versus actual production. The result is greater efficiency, lower costs, and the ability to continuously improve performance of all processes, activities, and equipment.
