GEHO marks milestone
WEIR Minerals Netherlands recently installed its 1 000th GEHO piston diaphragm pump at the Coral Bay Nickel plant at Rio Tuba in the Philippines which was officially inaugurated in June at a ceremony attended by representatives from Coral Bay Nickel Corp and contractor JGC Corp. Weir described the event as ”a milestone in the history of the company since it started the engineering and manufacturing of these pumps in 1968 for the transportation of ores minerals and mine-processing tailings”.

Metso adds new capacity
METSO Minerals has signed an agreement with GE Energy to acquire GE’s Lachine Main Plant a heavy fabrication and machining facility located near Montreal Quebec. The transaction was expected to close in mid-August and the financial terms were not disclosed. The acquired assets will be integrated into Metso Minerals’ Mining business line.
