Larox has strengthened its position within the Chinese equipment market by establishing a manufacturing subsidiary at the Suzhou Industrial Park, near Shanghai at the start of 2009. The subsidiary produces and sells Larox filters and filtration solutions, and offers comprehensive aftermarket services to the company’s Chinese customers.
China’s economy has developed rapidly over the last few years, fuelling growth in the mining, metallurgy and chemical process industries among others. The expansion of these industry sectors has in turn increased the demand for high quality filtration solutions. Larox has been represented in China for a number of years by its local agent Filterox, and the opening of a subsidiary demonstrates the company’s long-term commitment to the market.
Topi Karppanen, president and CEO of Larox Corporation explained: “The majority of the subsidiary's employees were already working for Filterox, and thanks to them Larox has been able to build a fruitful cooperation with its Chinese customers. It was a natural step for us to offer job opportunities to the whole Filterox team at Larox. This is also good news for our customers, as they will continue to have the same, familiar contacts for Larox products and services.”
“Local assembly of filters will start in the coming weeks for deliveries scheduled in early autumn this year. At the moment, we are recruiting to be fully operational with approximately 40 people in total by the end of this year,” commented Markku Hakala, deputy general manager for Larox China.
These views were echoed by Su Xugui, managing director of Larox China “There is an important growth potential in the Chinese filtration market. One of our strengths is our broad product portfolio. Larox Pressure Filters in particular have gained a solid reputation among our mining customers. This fully automated technology offers excellent process performance, reliability and lower operating costs in many applications.”
