Caterpillar has confirmed the successful delivery of two 785C mining trucks to the Energy Resources Inc. Ukhaakhudag coal mine near Tavan Tolgoi, Mongolia. The trucks arrived in March this year after being transported from the US to China and driven 650km across the Gobi desert.

Upon arrival at Zamyn-Uud, the primary border crossing from China to Mongolia, Wagner Asia, Caterpillar’s Mongolian dealer, assembled the trucks which were then driven directly to the Ukhaakhudag mines.

A month later three more trucks followed the delivery, with further orders expected by the end of 2009.
