McLanahan has announced that it has acquired Universal Engineering, a company that was founded in 1906 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and manufactures long-lasting equipment for the aggregate and mining industries.

The acquisition of Universal complements McLanahan’s existing product lines – which include roll crushers, feeder breakers and rotary breakers to process minerals such as coal, salt and trona – and adds hard rock crushing and apron, pan and wobbler feeders to its range.

George Sidney, president and COO of McLanahan, said: “It is our hope to grow the sales of Universal equipment around the world. We are excited to have Universal’s high quality, respected machines in our line-up, but we are more excited to have a professional, highly-trained group of people join our team.”
