Equipment distributor Micronics, has announced that Mexican mining company Gammon Gold has placed a repeat order for Ishigaki LASTA MC (mining concentrate) filter presses. The order will increase the existing capacity of the company's concentrator plant by 34% and the installation is due to be completed by mid 2010.

Ishigaki’s Sakaide factory in Japan produces the LASTA MC filter presses which are designed for reliable and economic dewatering of mineral concentrates and for sustainable handling of mine tailings. Ishigaki filter presses are known for their ability to filter short cycles and discharge filter cakes faster than conventional machines.

The LASTA MC range of filters are fully automatic and are available in three heavy duty configurations; with 1.5 x 2m, 2.1 x 2.1m and 2.1 x 2.9m plate sizes, providing optimal sizing opportunities that will dewater tailings to 14% moisture and mineral concentrates to 8% cake moisture.
