Exploration Processing Loading & Hauling Crushing & Conveying Drilling & Blasting
Competition has been particularly tough this year for the Mining Magazine awards. A large number of outstanding new products were launched over the past 12 months, and the drive towards better mine-site management, improved safety records and environmental stewardship has been greater than ever.
This year has also seen a number of equipment manufacturers and mining companies join forces to push the boundaries of innovation in product applications.
We have streamlined the awards format this year, reducing the number of categories from 15 to 12. We also opened up the voting process to our readers for the first time, at both the shortlist and final stages. The results are therefore truly reflective of industry opinion.
No doubt the competition will be just as tough in 2012. There are many prominent tradeshows and exhibitions due to be staged globally, not least MINExpo. This is held once every four years in Las Vegas, US. Many OEMs and mining houses use the exhibition/conference platform to launch ground-breaking products and detail new mining initiatives.
I am confident that this year’s Mining Magazine will be bursting with fantastic achievements to share with you.
