Loading & Hauling Crushing & Conveying Drilling & Blasting Exploration Processing
Following its highly successful launch last year, plans for the 2010 Mining Magazine Congress have been finalised, which will see this unique conference move down under to Perth in Western Australia.
Last year’s inaugural show was staged in Niagara, Canada. For the first time ever at an event of this kind, the whole mining process was covered, from drill and blast through to processing, attracting hundreds of delegates from around the world to the show.
A decision has been made to stay with the Congress’s winning formula of a high-level conference combined with a focused exhibition, but to take it to the other side of the world on November 10-11, 2010. The Congress, which will include exhibition space for 60 stands, covers four main themes: Drilling and Blasting; Loading and Hauling; Crushing and Conveying, and Processing. In addition, the 2010 Mining Magazine Awards will also be presented during the event.
The show will once again provide delegates with a truly global knowledge-sharing opportunity – moving the focus away from huge, impersonal exhibitions and expositions towards an environment where senior managers from the mining industry itself, together with existing and potential suppliers of equipment, components and services, can come together to talk about new ideas for faster and more efficient mine production.
Australia’s mining industry continues to thrive, fuelled by Asian demand for commodities, particularly from China. Additionally, the proximity of other globally important mining countries, such as Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, gives the conference added significance.
Australia has a reputation for pushing the boundaries in terms of new product development and innovation, both through owner-operators and contractors, so it represents an ideal location for this type of conference.
Mining Magazine exists primarily to keep the global mining industry informed of all the latest developments and trends in the mining equipment and mineral-processing markets. And the same goes for the Mining Magazine Congress.
Based on this core principle, and following consultation with a wide range of industry stakeholders, it is our intention that this event will be held annually, but, uniquely, it will move around the world’s principal mine-production regions.
As Mining Magazine is part of leading mining publisher Aspermont, the strong presence and recognition of our sister publication, Australia’s Mining Monthly, in its home market is another key advantage and strength. Both publications will be working together to ensure the event focuses on market-leading mine-production themes.
