Outotec has agreed to deliver flotation, thickening and automation technologies for several of First Quantum Minerals’ mining projects. The total value of the contracts is approximately US$25 million.

The orders include the delivery of 14 TankCell 300 units and 54 smaller TankCell flotation cells for nickel and copper concentrate production at the Kevitsa project in northern Finland. The new flotation tanks complement Outotec’s earlier delivery of grinding mills for the same project.

In addition, Kansanshi's copper and cobalt concentrator plant in Zambia has selected to increase production using six TankCell 300 units. Outotec will also deliver equipment for advanced image analysis and reagent dosing automation, to optimise the flotation process at Guelb Moghrein gold and copper concentrator plant in Mauretania. The flotation optimisation project expands the current flotation systems supplied and commissioned by Outotec at an earlier date.
