Thermo Fisher Scientific has announced the opening of its new sales and service facility in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Increasing the company’s direct presence in South America, the office will support customers within the growing cement, steel, mineral and coal industries in the region.

“We are pleased to expand our team in Brazil because it positions our company to quickly and efficiently meet customers’ requirements for more advanced instruments and process solutions,” said Dan Shine, president of process instruments at Thermo Fisher Scientific. “The new facility ensures that our presence is properly aligned with evolving market needs in this growing region.”

The new Sao Paulo facility will provide technical services, sales, engineering services and training support to a range of customers in cement, steel, minerals and coal industries. The team in Sao Paulo will primarily serve customers that purchase Thermo Scientific online elemental analysers, sampling systems, bulk weighing and monitoring products for cement, coal and minerals, and online thickness and coating weight measurement gauges for steel. The facility will also store spares inventory.

“This facility transforms our sales and service capabilities in Brazil. We’re able to offer customers fast, smooth transactions whether it’s a prompt inquiry response, immediate spare part delivery or streamlined business dealings in the local currency,” said Alex Flaith, the Sao Paulo facility general manager with Thermo Fisher Scientific.
