Crushing & Conveying

Delivery of crushers to OAO Apatit marks the last stage of the crushing equipment upgrade program. During 2001-2006, the company received four similar KMD-2200T5-D fine crushers and three KSD-2200T2-D intermediate crushers with 50% boosted capacity. The crushing equipment upgrade enabled the introduction of new crushing technologies and significant increase of ore-preparation efficiency.

“Crushers supplied to OAO Apatit allow producing material that is less than 18mm in size, whereas standard fine crushing equipment gives 22-25mm material,” commented chief crushing and grinding equipment design engineer Arkadiy Osadchiy, adding: “Such reduction of product size makes it possible to cut back the consumption of power, lining and balls used in the grinding process, which affects the end product price.”

OAO Apatit is a global producer of phosphate raw materials. It produces and processes apatite-nepheline ores from the Khibiny deposits, north west Russia. The company's main product is apatite concentrate. Besides, OO Apatite's products include nepheline, syenitic aluminum-alkali, aegrine, grothite and titan-magnetite concentrates.
