The Mantos Blancos open-pit mine is located in the Antofagasta region of Chile

The company did not verify when the work could begin, but confirmed it would include revamping Mantos Blancos' existing oxide line, construction of a new sulphide line and the implementation of new filtered and thickened flotation equipment at the plant.

The Mantos Blancos contract continues OHL's presence in Chile, where it has been operating since 1981.

For the country's mining sector, the group has previously won contracts for the development of a copper treatment plant at División Ministro Hales; the expansion of the Tranque Talabre tailings dam located in the Chilean city of Calama; work at the El Teniente mine; and crushing and rhyolite transport work at the Minera Escondida plant near Antofagasta.

Outside of mining, OHL was recently awarded the €70 million, 89MW La Huella PV installation, which will serve the region of Coquimbo in the north of the country.
