The City of Greater Sudbury council and the Greater Sudbury Development Corp (GSDC) in Ontario, Canada, have approved C$1 million (US$825,000) in funding for the Centre for Excellence in Mining Innovation (CEMI) Commercialization Attainment Program (CAP) to support the Ultra-Deep Mining Network (UDMN)

The Ultra-Deep Mining Network (UDMN) aims to become the leading expert in ultra-deep research and innovation

These funds will be disbursed through the GSDC Community Economic Development programme, with an annual allocation of C$200,000 (US$165,000) a year until 2019, for a total of C$1 million.
