PRESS RELEASE: Peak Gold Mines, wholly owned by Canadian gold miner New Gold, is a medium-sized gold and copper underground mining operation located in the Cobar region of central-western New South Wales.

The operation commenced production in 1992 and produces gold doré for sale at the Perth Mint and copper concentrate which is sold to markets in Asia.

The scope of works under Pybar’s five-month contract is for development totalling 1,097m within the Jubilee ore zone.

With one month’s notification of commencement, the start-up team had completed mobilisation on time and within budget, and works commenced on July 31.

Mining contractor Pybar’s operations manager Dave Hunter said: “This is a great testament to Pybar’s responsiveness to client requirements.

“Being able to mobilise a mining fleet and crew within four weeks and hit the ground running is what is required in today’s contracting environment.”
