Ivanhoe reaches 750m at Platreef

As it continues making progress at its Platreef PGE-nickel-copper project in South Africa, Canadian-based Ivanhoe Mines has reached a depth of 750 metres with Shaft 1 at the site

The sinking headgear and infrastructure for the first Platreef shaft, which has now reached 750m

The miner said a station will be built at the level beginning this month to permit initial mine development access.

Once the station is complete, sinking of Shaft 1 will begin again.
