PRESS RELEASE: Cobar Management is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Glencore, a global diversified natural resource company.

The three-year contract, with Cobar Management having at its discretion an option to extend the term up to 24 months, is valued at approximately A$120 million (US$88.6 million) and follows the successful completion of a three-year mining services contract awarded to Downer in May 2015.

Downer's scope of works includes mechanised decline and lateral development mining and haulage, with the provision of ground support services including shotcrete and cable bolting.

Grant Fenn, CEO of Downer, said that he was very pleased to be continuing Downer's relationship with Cobar Management.

He commented: "Downer has a strong track record of providing mining services to Cobar Management and helping it to drive efficiencies across its operations. We look forward to extending our working relationship and continuing to deliver efficient solutions for the CSA mine."
