Gold Bar getting polished for 2019 start

The Gold Bar open-pit project in Eureka County, Nevada, US, is preparing for commercial start in the March quarter of next year, owner McEwen Mining has confirmed

In a shareholder letter, the miner said the process plant is now 70% complete, and its focus for the remainder of the year will be completing and commissioning it, and the loading of the heap-leach pad that is now also finished.

The crushing, conveying and agglomeration systems are also now ready after being completed this month.

Gold Bar, which is on the Battle Mountain-Eureka-Cortez gold trend, is expected to produce an average of 62,000oz annually over a life of mine of seven years. Its in-pit resource estimate is 822,000oz measures indicated and 202,000oz inferred.

McEwen's other properties in production include El Gallo, San Jose and Black Fox. Its exploration, study and development projects include Fenix, Los Azules and Lexam.
