Volvo and Allison reconnect at Bauma

Volvo and Allison first connected in 1979 in the 5350 model articulated hauler, and now, 37 years later, they have joined forces again.

The model is equipped with Allison Transmission's new 6630 ORS fully automatic transmission that is tailored to fit the modern high-power Volvo engine.

The new 6630ORS model is part of Allison’s 6000 series of transmissions, offering increased durability and performance. It contains a new internal damper and updated torque converter turbine with improved vane geometry and anodised surface treatment for increased durability. Furthermore, a new heavy duty retarder rotor is now an available option.

The Volvo A60H also benefits from modifications to the transmission’s low and reverse planetary gear assemblies. Increased oil flow lubrication delivers extended product life in mining applications that demand high torque or prolonged reverse range operations.
