Belazia, Darma Henwa signed the supply contract for the dump trucks on October 3

According to the OEM, the trucks will be used at Kaltim Prima Coal's Bengalon operation in East Kalimantan. They are being provided by Belaz's Southeast Asian authorised dealer, Belazia.

The agreement was formally signed in Jakarta on October 3.

The fleet, which will transport overburden at the mine, was selected due to the climatic conditions of the region; specifically, the machines' modified air conditioning and cooling systems, as well as a specific type of rubber used on them, are suitable for the region's tropical conditions.

"Indonesian companies have been operating Belaz equipment for years; mining dumpers with payload capacities of 45t, 110t and 130t [have] shown good results," the OEM said.

"[The companies] highly appreciate the capabilities of [the] equipment, which is a decisive factor in opting for Belarusian mining dump trucks and special equipment."

Kaltim Prima Coal's Bengalon operation is located 120km north of Samarinda in East Kalimantan. First production from the wide-scale open-pit mine was in 1991, and the complex extracts from the Sangatta and Bengalon blocks.
