Whitehaven starts autonomous hauling at Maules Creek

Whitehaven Coal said it has now started autonomous haulage operations at its Maules Creek coal mine in New South Wales, Australia.

The company anounced the milestone in its operational update for the March quarter. 

A fleet of six EH5000 trucks and excavator was in operation in March to move overburden at the mine.

Whitehaven plans to train and deploy more workers to allow for 7-day operation of AHS by the end of its financial year in the June quarter.
