Liebherr wins MacKellar order for T 264s

German-Swiss equipment manufacturer Liebherr has won an order for Liebherr T 264 off-highway haul trucks from Australia’s MacKellar Mining, with the trucks to be deployed at the latter’s Dawson Mine.

Liebherr said the order for four T 264 240t/265t trucks will increase MacKellar's fleet at Anglo American's Dawson open-cut metallurgical coal mine to nine - five more were ordered in early 2020.

"The T 264 provides efficient products for our clients by offering a true 240 metric tonne payload, and superior speed on grade," Mackellar Group noted in a statement.

The four new T 264, which will join the working fleet in early 2021, were manufactured in Liebherr Newport News facility in Virginia USA, but will complete pre-assembly in Mackay before travelling inland to Dawson Mine for final commissioning.
