Cyient to support Decipher's tailings software rollout

Indian engineering technology firm Cyient will partner with Australian mine rehabilitation software developer Decipher on a global roll-out of the latter’s cloud monitoring and governance platform for tailing storage facilities.

The companies said the MOU aims to leverage Perth-based Decipher's expertise in tailing storage facility (TSF) monitoring with the global reach and technological strengths of Cyient, which is based in Hyderabad.

"Decipher's end-to-end solution and deep understanding of TSF monitoring and governance, combined with Cyient's technical depth and global reach, will bring immense value to our mining customers," said Herman Kleynhans, sector head for mining at Cyient.

The Cyient cloud mining platform enables mining companies to replace manual processes and siloed data with a software platform, to help prevent emergencies such as an uncontrolled release of water, waste material or by-products.

The company also offers regulatory (Compliance Management Software), mining waste management, stakeholder engagement, environmental monitoring, and environmental management system (EMS) tools.

Cyient's subsidiary, IG Partners, will play a role in selling and implementing the Decipher platform.

Decipher's chief executive, Anthony Walker, added, "The reach and experience of Cyient, a leading global player, will greatly support the uptake of the solution for customers worldwide. The remarkable strides taken by the Global Industry Tailings Standard in challenging and leading the industry needs the support and systems that Decipher can deliver."
