Newcastle uni, MineSensor partner on idler monitors

Australia’s University of Newcastle and New South Wales-based mining technology firm MineSensor have jointly developed a new idler monitoring system for conveyor belts, with trials already underway at coal and iron ore sites in the Hunter Valley and the Pilbara.

On an average-sized site 20,000 data points will be collected

University of Newcastle's Professor Craig Wheeler and entrepreneur David Bull partnered on the solution, which monitors the performance and condition of idlers using remote sensors.
