UC Rusal has announced that a Rb160 million (US$3 million) investment programme launched earlier this year to modernise powder production at its Volgograd aluminium smelter (VgAZ) is progressing as planned.
As part of the modernisation, Rusal is working to expand the range of aluminium powders and pastes used in the production of aerated concrete for the construction industry, it said.
KrAZ will use a less tarry pitch formulation developed and tested by Rusal's engineering team.
RUSAL and Mingtai partner on low-carbon project
