Venture Minerals has made a positive final investment decision on its Riley iron ore project in Tasmania, Australia, opting for dry screening operations to begin immediately to realise early cash flow from the operation.

It has now started preparations for low cost mining and dry screening, with work to start within a week.

The iron ore at the Riley direct shipping ore deposit starts at surface, which will enable Venture to accelerate production and capture the current iron ore prices before the wet screening plant has been built and commissioned.

The company is currently finalising talks on financing options to complete construction of the wet screening plant.

It has a port access agreement with TasPort in place, for exports through the port of Burnie, and in June signed a road access deal with Hydro Tasmania.
