Terra Mapper enables automatic stockpile volume calculation

Staff reporter

The software was first launched in Japan by Terra Drone Corporation, with more than 600 licences sold since 2017.

According to Terra Drone, the new, updated version of Terra Mapper simplifies aerial data analytics and eliminates the need for organisations to outsource drone data processing jobs. Users can tag ground control points (GCPs) automatically, visualise high-density point cloud and 3-D data from all angles, capture video animations, and design illustrations (CAD drawings).

Apart from providing outputs like orthophoto, digital terrain models, point cloud and 3-D models, Terra Mapper offers analytical deliverables such as stockpile volume calculation, contour lines, automatic classification of objects and horizontal and vertical cross-section profiles.
