The seven-figure deal will supply the company with HxGN MinePlan software and services.

Ellatzite-Med is one of the largest copper mining companies in Bulgaria, dealing mainly with extraction and processing of copper porphyry gold-bearing ores from the Ellatzite open-pit mine located near the town of Etropole, 80km east of the country's capital, Sofia.

The HxGN MinePlan portfolio comprises solutions for exploration, geology, engineering, planning and production. According to Selçuk Akinci, EMEA senior territory manager for Hexagon's Mining division, product integration is important to Ellatzite-Med.

"Ellatzite-Med knows that productive mines depend on proven solutions that standardise workflows, ensure accountability and improve collaboration," said Akinci. "Today's deal means our partner has one, fully integrated and comprehensive system. They can manage their data without any transfers or conversion issues. Plus, they can count on outstanding support from our services' department."

Ivaylo Nikolov, director of the Ellatzite mine complex, commented: "We constantly work towards the implementation and use of modern technologies and mine planning techniques in order to ensure efficient development of our company and in particular, mining processes.

"Modernisation and investment for the digitalisation process of the mine complex are one of our top priorities. The integration of Hexagon's software MinePlan 3D is yet another step towards the development of the mine complex into an upscale technology company."
