Founded in 1909 by Herbert Hoover, Mining Magazine is the single definitive guide to mining. Mining Magazine offers in-depth, technical insight into all operational aspects of mining.
The title is designed to inform and assist mine management with decisions on mining techniques and technologies, as well as issues affecting their workforce, logistics and supply chains.

Nia Kajastie, Editor
Nia, a part of the Mining Magazine team since 2016, stepped into the role of London-based product editor in April 2019, after a stint as the publication's online editor.
She originally joined Aspermont Media in August 2013 as the editor of GeoDrilling International. She holds a BA in journalism and news media & creative writing, and speaks Finnish and German.
Ailbhe Goodbody, Americas Editor
Based in Montreal, Canada, Ailbhe is the Americas editor for Mining Magazine. Before her move, she served as the editor of the publication.
She joined the team at Mining Magazine as assistant editor in July 2011, and was promoted to deputy editor in March 2015. She also did two stints as acting editor while the previous editor was on maternity leave.
Ailbhe graduated from Trinity College, Dublin in 2009 with a BA (Mod) degree in geology, and from Imperial College London in 2010 with an MSc in science communication.
Donna Schmidt, Senior Reporter
Donna, a member of the mining trade publication circle since 2005, joined the Mining Magazine team in August 2017. She previously reported for sister Aspermont publications American Longwall Magazine, Coal USA Magazine (now discontinued) and International Longwall News (now part of Australia's Mining Monthly) for nearly nine years.
Based in the US, Donna holds a BS in print media communications from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and earned her MS in communications and information systems from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh.
