First Solar, Rio Tinto solar plant starts operations

First Solar, Rio Tinto and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency have announced that Australia’s first commercial diesel-displacement solar plant has successfully commenced commercial operation at the Weipa bauxite mine in far north Queensland.
