Vale and Wabtec to develop electric locos, alt fuels

Vale has ordered three FLXdrive battery electric locomotives from railway specialists Wabtec and will work with the company on the use of ammonia as an clean alternative to diesel.

The FLXdrive locomotives, which are 100% battery-powered, will be deployed on the Carajás Railroad (EFC) in Brazil.
