Gregory Wilcox,
Principal Application Engineer for Strategic Development,
Rockwell Automation

Gregory Wilcox is the principal application engineer for Strategic Development at Rockwell Automation. In this role, he leads a multi-company effort to establish tested and validated designs to enable reliable and secure Industrial IoT and Industrial IT (OT-IT) architectures, holding multiple Cisco network and security certifications, with innovative and insightful Strategic Alliance Partner collaboration. He is a thought leader with extensive experience in designing and implementing industrial automation network and security solutions for the past 36 years, with 30 of those years at Rockwell Automation. Prior to joining Rockwell Automation, he worked in the defense industry developing industrial automation and control system (IACS) solutions for both discrete and process applications.

 

David Mazur
Principal Engineer & System Architect,
Rockwell Automation

David C. Mazur, Ph.D., works as a principal engineer and system architect for Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee, WI.  His experience includes application development in heavy industry automation and infrastructure. David was engaged in the development of technology for time synchronized continuous casters for the steel industry.

He received his B.S. EE degree summa cum from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, VA in 2011.  David graduated with his M.S. EE degree in 2012 for his work based on rotor angle measurement of synchronous machines from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.  He graduated with the Ph.D. in Mining Engineering in September 2013 for his work with automation and control of the IEC 61850 standard. David is an active member of the IEEE IAS and serves as working group chair for the Communication-Based Protection of Industrial Applications Working Group. He also serves as the past chair of the Mining Industry Committee (MIC) as well as the Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Committee (I&CPS). He is also an active member of the Society of Mining Engineering Coal and Energy Subcommittee.

 

Scott Friberg
Solutions Architect,
Cisco

Scott Friberg (CCIE R&S 9606) is a solutions architect and has worked at Cisco for 20 years. For the last 10 years, he has supported the Rockwell Automation strategic alliance, and has played a pivotal role in the creation of Converged Plantwide Ethernet.
