The signing took place in Perth last week during the AusIMM Thought Leadership Series. Both groups offered public comment on their mutual commitment to supporting the growing voice of indigenous women in the sector.

"AusIMM and IWIMRA recognise the strong participation and contribution of indigenous people to the resources workforce," AusIMM CEO Stephen Durkin said.

"By working together, we can ensure that AusIMM is supporting all resources professionals, providing ongoing opportunities for professional development."

In 2018, AusIMM formed the Council for Diversity and Inclusion, made up of prominent industry representatives from a diverse range of backgrounds.

It is now developing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Engagement Plan for implementation with the assistance of the council and indigenous representatives.
