The Builtrite Model 2200-TM cable reel handler

PRESS RELEASE: It is designed to safely and efficiently retrieve and dispense electrical cable from electric mining shovels and water/sludge pumps, along with wire rope or flexible pipe.

This loader is a modification of Builtrite Manufacturing’s extremely successful model 2200-TM truck mounted material handler, which is custom designed to incorporate a fully operational cab and cable reel controls. In addition, a fully custom truck bed, incorporating two cable reel holders, with the rear unit having rotational ability and dual, hydraulic drive motors for retrieving and dispensing electrical cable and wire rope.

With 3,863kg of lift capacity at 6.7m of reach, this loader can handle most cable reels. It also features a fabricated, fully boxed and reinforced main boom and jib boom, made from high tensile steel, as well as aluminium bronze bushings on all pivot points - a 76mm cylinder and boom pivot pins for excellent surface area to force ratio. The operator’s cab is 990mm x 1,575mm, fully insulated, and is equipped with a sliding door and sliding window.

The hydraulic system features pilot operated, pressure compensated load sense controls using a single, variable piston pump operating at 4,500 PSI. This operating system is 20% faster and more energy efficient than traditional gear pump systems. The ergonomic joystick controls are designed to alleviate fatigue, while it has highly efficient, pressure compensated sections in main control valve.
