The company's new app, called 'My Rock Tools - Analyze' aims to conduct failure and discard analysis on rock tools, to help users determine the root cause of any problems.

"With My Rock Tools Analyze, customers can ultimately increase productivity and profitability by using the analysis results to improve their drilling operations" said Charles Macfadyen, Digital Solutions, Rock Tools Division, Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology.

The app launch comes just days after Dormer Pramet, a division within Sandvik Machining Solutions, confirmed that it will acquire the entire business of Miranda Tools.

"I am very pleased that we have reached an agreement to acquire the business of Miranda Tools, which will further enhance Dormer Pramet's position as one of the leading suppliers of cutting tools for the general engineering and component manufacturing industries," says Stefan Steenstrup, President of Dormer Pramet.

"This also strengthens our position in the Indian and wider Asian markets, supporting a vast array of small to medium-sized workshops, which rely heavily on HSS cutting tools," added Steenstrup.

Gujarat-based Miranda, which employs more than 580 people, offers a varied product portfolio including drills, taps, milling cutters tool bits and saws.
