Anglo American’s Isibonelo colliery in South Africa is located approximately 120km east of Johannesburg, near Secunda, Mpumalanga
It is an open-pit mine that uses the dragline strip-mining method and provides approximately 5Mt/y of thermal coal to Sasol for conversion into synthetic fuels.
