Rajant reveals ES1 Breadcrumb node

Kinetic Mesh wireless network maker Rajant has introduced to its line-up the mid-tier BreadCrumb node, the ES1

The node, which can be used with other Rajant node units to form or expand a network, is ideal for IIoT applications and light-duty vehicles because of its compact size, light weight and low cost.

The ES1 is powered by the peer-to-peer InstaMesh networking technology software, just like all other Rajant products, and provides Ethernet and Wi-Fi access point interfaces for data, voice and video capabilities.

According to company EVP of sales and marketing Geoff Smith, it introduced the new release in part because not all sites need "extreme ruggedisation" that is provided by the other BreadCrumb products.

"The ES1 comes in an IP67 package, ideal for operation in outdoor environments that require a very durable solution," he said.

"Whether you are building… or expanding… the inclusion and installation of the ES1 are simple and fast. There are no requirements for a central controller and the multi-radios automatically mitigate interference providing built-in redundancy."

The ES1 contains two transceivers and up to four external antenna ports. It also has multiple mounting options.

The new release, which is outdoor rated to a temperature range of -40°C to 60°C, is available now.
