No financial details were disclosed, but Agrimin said Primero's involvement is on an early contractor involvement (ECI) basis - the initial awarded stage being the design works for the plant.

Design works are already under way, as modelling and flowsheets are under the management of Novopro Projects have now wrapped up.

Agrimin said Primero was selected by competitive process; in its search, it focused on contractors "with suitable experience and capabilities to undertake both the engineering design and subsequent construction of the process plant and associated site based non-process infrastructure" for Mackay.

Perth, Australia-based Agrimin owns 100% of the Mackay potash project, located south of the Port of Wyndham. Lake Mackay in Western Australia has been called the largest undeveloped potash-bearing salt lake in the world.
