Fortitude Gold has submitted its Plan of Operations with the Bureau of Land Management, and is planning an open-pit mine for the Nevada project.

Fortitude plans to take gold to the carbon stage before sending the material to the nearby Isabella Pearl ADR plant, where it will be turned into gold dore. Processing the gold in this way will minimise construction and operating costs, Fortitude said.

An initial resource for the Golden Mile project released in November 2021 foresees indicated resources of 78,500 gold ounces at 1.13 g/t of gold and inferred resources of 84,500 ounces at 1.10 g/t of gold. The resource remains open at strike and at depth.

Fortitude will decide on whether it will move forward with mine development in the first half of 2022.

The Nevada-focused miner is developing five gold properties on the Walker Lane Mineral Belt.
