From nickel to Niagara

The sleeping giant that is Sudburys nickel industry, much of which has been dormant for the summer, could show new signs of life as the average July price for the metal looks to be above US$7/lb, well over previous analyst estimates. While still far below the 2007 highs of US$25/lb, the situation is still a marked improvement on the price levels of US$4.40/lb earlier this year. Should the slow price recovery continue, the situation will start to look more positive for many of the nickel-mining groups.
