Siemens introduces gearbox test facility

Siemens has installed a gearbox load test facility at its Rockhampton Service Centre

PRESS RELEASE: It is not only the largest test rig by kilowatt rating in Australia, with full load testing possible to 2.8MW, but all manner of parameters are also validated during the course of testing, such as temperature, vibration, sound and oil purity.

The new Siemens test rig, which provides testing capabilities across a broad range of markets from wind to mining, was recently demonstrated to visitors.  

Siemens Rockhampton Service Centre is one of only a few original equipment manufacturers’ (OEM) workshops within the vicinity of the Bowen, Galilee and Surat Basins, and provides local operations with access to highly specialised engineering services, equipment, spare parts and technicians.
