The merger transaction was completed on February 21, 2019, establishing ÅF Pöyry, which came with a new group structure and group management formed of people from both companies. ÅF Pöyry also said it would be launching "a united brand and a joint client offering during 2019".

The new divisions of the company were named as infrastructure, industrial and digital solutions, process industries (including mining and metals), energy and management consulting.

The new international engineering, design and advisory company, with a combined annual revenue of about SK20 billion (US$2.1 billion), now employs around 17,000 employees in 50 countries, while serving clients in more than 100 countries.

According to the latest company release, while the legal name of the company remains ÅF Pöyry, it will now be known as AFRY.

AFRY president and CEO Jonas Gustavsson said the launch of the new brand name would consolidate its position as a global company.

The common brand and offering are meant to strengthen the company's position in its core markets of Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Switzerland, while offering further global growth potential within the energy and process industries, among others.

The company also believes that "the need for sustainable solutions is greater than ever in times of increased globalisation, urbanisation, digitalisation and climate change".

"Given the exponential technological development we are facing, our services and solutions are more relevant than ever. In the last couple of years, we have experienced significant growth, and our revenue has doubled since 2015," Gustavsson said.
