MinRes said recently that efforts to increase its use of LNG and solar led to a 19% decrease in diesel use in the last financial year.

A business case is now being developed for both small and large-scale solar and LNG installations at its projects using fixed and/or modular solutions, including a 2 MegaWatt solar installation at Wonmunna in Western Australia.

MinRes chairman Peter Wade said in response to a growing expectation from our investors and stakeholders, the company would also align its climate-related disclosures with the recommendations of the Taskforce on Climate related Financial Disclosures.

"With the events we have seen around the world this year, our social licence to operate and our relationships with communities and stakeholders are as important as ever."

The company's Project Services division teamed up with Phoenix Environmental, and they launched an integrated camera trapping system to undertake baseline fauna assessment for the Northern Quoll at the Bungaroo South project in the West Pilbara.

This project is designed to increase the amount of data collected in a more cost-effective way and in "real time" while also increasing the long-term observations of various species for MinRes.

Jarrad Clark, director of Phoenix commented "The system is going to generate a lot of data. What's really exciting for me is that as images are received at our server new entries will be created in a custom-built spatially enabled database with a web-based user interface."
