Headquartered in Wavre, Belgium, SMT has established a strong sales and service network across Africa. The appointment means Terex Trucks’ equipment will now be available in 20 countries in Africa where it previously had no presence.

Central and West Africa is seeing an increase in mining-related construction projects, said Guy Wilson, EMEA sales director for Scottish firm Terex.

He added: “SMT has a good history in this region, and the company’s experience made it the obvious choice as Terex Trucks’ first distributor in this territory. We’re confident that the durability and efficiency of Terex Truck’s equipment, together with SMT’s excellent sales and service support, will prove to be a good match in this growing market.”

SMT offers a well-financed stock of genuine spare parts, according to Terex Trucks. Its large network and extensive logistics ensure the availability of genuine Terex Trucks parts across the region, it said. To return equipment to service rapidly, SMT offers kits for maintenance, reconditioning and basic repairs.
