The move would maximise payloads within the available capability of their trucks from various OEMs including Caterpillar and Belaz.

A fleet of six CAT 789s with Suspended Dump Bodies running in Kumtor has completed more than 14,000 hours virtually maintenance free in an environment with abrasive material and difficult climatic conditions. This benefit was also complemented by an average 16% increase in payloads and a noticeable reduction of spillage.

After a successful trial with Suek in a large coal mine, Duratray bodies will also be deployed at one of Severstal’s iron-ore mines. A small order of Suspended Dump Bodies for Belaz trucks is being supplemented by one the largest orders of the lightweight steel bodies (XP) for Caterpillar trucks, that will be manufactured over the next two years, taking the fleet to over 30 units of 220t.

Duratray said this will result in the one of the largest single users of Duratray bodies in the Asian region, with ongoing discussions for follow-up orders in other Severstal mines.
