Metal 7 gains Megatraction

Canadian company Metal 7 has acquired mining equipment manufacturer Megatraction Equipment

Megatraction designs and manufactures a specialised range of lifting equipment for heavy electric shovels and hydraulic excavators used by the mining industry.

Marc-André Gervais, president and CEO of Metal 7, said: "Its patented technologies coupled with our expertise in international trade allow us to add a range of products that fit perfectly into our mission of delivering high-performances solutions that increase our customers' productivity,"

Metal 7, based in Sept-Iles, Quebec, is a manufacturing company that specialises in the design and manufacture of high-performance equipment for the mining industries and aluminium smelters.

According to Robin Belley, general manager of Megatraction Equipment, the transaction will enable it to expand into markets outside of North America.
