The new loader is powered by a C7.1 mechanical engine with Tier II emission standards and features integrated exhaust aftertreatment systems. The Swedish OEM said the certified diesel engine system for the Sandvik LS312 was designed to minimise emissions, maintenance needs and total cost of ownership.

The Sandvik LS312 features electronic diesel engine safety shutdown systems and roll-over and falling objects (ROPS/FOPS) protection fitted as standard on all units.

Suitable for underground coal loading and hauling applications, this LHD also comes with quick detachment system (QDS) attachments, such as augers, cable/belt reelers, forks and more.

"Reduced consumables and up to 20% diesel fuel savings, as well as 15% reduction in service time due to improved maintainability, contribute to lower operating costs," the manufacturer said.

The new LS312 can be used in conjunction with Sandvik's 57t hydraulic assist roof support trailer for relocating larger longwall equipment.

Owners of LS190 loaders can also upgrade or rebuild their machines with the C7.1 mechanical engine, while integration into other models such as the LS170 is also being planned for the near future.
