Epiroc acquires New Concept Mining

Epiroc now owns the South African manufacturer of rock-reinforcement products for underground mining

Epiroc announced on November 6 last year that it had agreed to acquire New Concept Mining.

The company, which is registered as Innovative Mining Product but still widely known as New Concept Mining, manufactures a comprehensive range of underground mining roof-support products, rock-monitoring systems and related accessories.

It is based in Johannesburg, South Africa, with further facilities in Peru, Zambia and Canada, and has about 900 employees.

The business will become part of Epiroc's Rock Drilling Tools division and will continue to be based in Johannesburg.
