Balkrishna Industries Ltd (BKT), an Indian tire manufacturing company, has won an order to supply 42 giant EARTHMAX SR 468 tires to South Eastern Coalfields Ltd (SECL), a mining company owned by the Indian Government's Ministry of Coal.

The company described it as a milestone that consolidates its position in the mining sector and confirms its place in the OTR industry.

The first batch of six tires made for SECL has already been shipped, while a further two will reach their destination within a week.

EARTHMAX SR 468 is the 57th tire - the largest ever made by BKT - manufactured at the BKT plant in Bhuj, India, and designed to equip rigid dump trucks operating in the most hostile conditions, the company explained.

The tire is resistant to attacks and punctures, thanks to the ALL Steel structure, and is therefore suitable for rough and muddy terrain, it continued.
