This major release has a complete set of intuitive and highly visual tools and workflows to unlock the value of structural data for geologists and other decision-makers.

ARANZ Geo solutions harness information to extract value, bring meaning and reduce risk by turning complex data into geological understanding, providing timely insight and giving decision-makers confidence.

ARANZ Geo stated that Leapfrog Geo 4.0’s intuitive and dynamic structural geology tools and workflows make this important discipline accessible to all geologists. No longer just for specialists, vital structural data can now be cleaned, interpreted and incorporated into models to influence and guide overall geometry, all within Leapfrog Geo.

Nick Fogarty, general manager mining and minerals at ARANZ Geo, said: “Leapfrog Geo 4.0 is our most significant release to date. We’ve focused on helping users visualise and understand valuable structural data with a new workflow, which has an immediate impact on modelling and decision making.”

Tim Schurr, product director at ARANZ Geo, said: “Geological projects often accumulate significant amounts of structural data that are not being effectively utilised. Many of the richest deposits occupy faults and fractures in structurally complex areas. Until now it has been a difficult process for geologists to apply their structural data, to interrogate it and easily use it when modelling. Leapfrog Geo 4.0 sets a new standard in geological modelling with structural data. Being able to put this data to work when modelling is a significant step forward.”

A new, interactive stereonet tool is a major new feature in Leapfrog Geo 4.0. Selections and edits to the stereonet are automatically represented in the 3-D scene to give a broader perspective and aid understanding. A new form interpolant tool automatically creates surfaces from structural measurements.

Schurr said: “As you’d expect with Leapfrog, the stereonet tool is packed with visualisation options including contouring and colouring, so it is easy to identify relationships and see structures. The form interpolant is an impressive 3-D solution, able to take all mapped and downhole structural data and show the structural deformation to highlight any folding or overturning.”

22 new features have been added or improved in Leapfrog Geo 4.0, making it a substantially advanced release. Local Leapfrog offices are on hand to demonstrate the new features and online videos and release notes are available to help bring users up to speed and ensure they can quickly benefit from the advancements.
